Sometimes a girl just needs her fries! For me it’s almost EVERY day that I need fries, and eating the sweet potato version makes me feel healthier. This is a variation on a recipe from my dear sweet friend Becka, because it’s always my favorite snack she makes for girls’ nights. The fry sauce recipe is something I concocted after deciding ketchup alone wasn’t cutting it with my fries one night!
I’ve gotten confirmation that the fry sauce is preeeeeeetty tasty, on multiple occasions, from multiple people. Just saying.
1-2 Sweet Potatoes
Olive or Avocado Oil
Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning (or an equal parts garlic/onion/chili powder blend)
Himalayan Salt
Ketchup
Mayonnaise (I use vegan)
Balsamic
Trader Joe’s Chili Seasoning
Chop your sweet potatoes into fry sized pieces and toss them in a large bowl. Drizzle oil and generously season with Tony Chachere’s or homemade blend. Throw them in the air fryer at 400 for 13-15 minutes depending on how thin your fries are, tossing every five minutes. Sprinkle Himalayan salt on them when they are done.
For the fry sauce, mix equal parts ketchup and mayonnaise in a small bowl and whisk together. Add a few dashes of balsamic and a few heavy handed shakes of chili seasoning to taste. (For one person I do roughly 2tbsp ketchup, 2tbsp mayo, 2 shakes of chili seasoning, 1 dash balsamic.)
Bone apple teeth! Hope these get you as many compliments as they’ve gotten my girl Becka over the years. Cheers!
